Welcome to Fabulous Lost Wages, Nevada! Part Five

At about 9:30pm, I was completely wiped out, so back on the bus for the return trip to The Strip and our hotel room. And another Margarita.

Jerry wanted to gamble some more, but I was a wreck, so I headed up to the room, hoping for a nice hot shower and SLEEP. When I opened the door, the first thing I noticed was that the maids had not been in to clean the room.  This irked me, but I was too tired to complain about it. I would save that for tomorrow morning. So I prepared to shower. Struggled out of my skivvies and made for the bathroom. Flip the lightswitch, and,  You Guessed It!  Still no light.

Now "irked" became "upset". Called maintenance, but of course, at 10pm, there is no one available. Called the front desk and demanded to speak to a manager. He apologized profusely, and offered the use of a room across the hall so I could "use the facilities". I accepted, and keys were sent up. Called Jerry to let him know that if he came up and I wasn't there, I'd be in Room 1257, showering. When I finished, I went back to 1260, and crawled into the bed.  Jerry arrived about 11pm and also prepared to get some much-needed sleep.

11:30 pm.  A knock on the door.  Maintenance.  Here to fix the light bulb.

REALLY???  At 11:30pm???

Now "upset" has turned to "really pissed" as this dood proceeds to bang around in the bathroom.  Minutes pass, then he pops his head into the room to tell Jerry that it is not the bulb that is out, but the ballast, and it will take about an hour to fix it.

"Really pissed" is now "Enraged".  Jerry can see the steam coming out of my ears, so before I get a chance to explode, he politely tells the man "No, you will not fix it now. Tomorrow we will move to room 1257, and you can have all day then to fix the issues with this room." (Such a problem-solver, my sweet hubby is. Is it any wonder I have kept him for 41 years?)
