Get up, need to twinkle, walk to the restroom, flip the lightswitch, !POP!
Bulb burned out.
When's the last time you tried to shower (shave, fix hair, apply make-up, etc) in pitch dark? And wait a minute...is that a dripping faucet I hear? Yup. Bathtub. Never noticed that yesterday. Is this REALLY a newly-renovated room?
Well, we were not happy with this new development, but made the best of it, and by 5am we are at the front desk reporting the problem. After being assured that it will be taken care of first thing today, we head out for breakfast, and bus passes!
Circus, Circus is near the North end of The Strip --- our first destination (via BUS!) is at the SOUTH end of The Strip. Mandalay Bay.
BEAUTIFUL hotel/resort. Nice Casino. Played our 20 bucks --- win some, lose some, lose some more.
This resort has private beach. Really. On the premises. We weren't allowed to look around or take pictures because it is for the exclusive use of Mandalay Bay guests. Hoity Toity!! (Next time, we're staying at Mandalay Bay.)
Then a walk past The Luxor and Excalibur . We skipped going into these because we saw saw them last trip.
Next up is New York, New York. Fun Resort!!!
I had wanted to ride the roller coaster last time, but the lines were so long that I abandoned the idea. This time, I wasn't leaving without riding. WooHoo! It was amazing!
jd went straight to the casino...I met him there after the ride and played my $20.00. Hit a penny machine for $90.00 and practically ran out of there with my $$! :*)
Then we went to Monte Carlo, and played our $20.00 -- No luck there. No photo, either. It just didn't impress us much.
Then on to ARIA, which was highly recommended by a friend as being a 'luckier' casino for him. Well, by the time we walked through the enormous Designer Mall that leads to the casino, we were pretty hungry, so we stopped at a place called the Cafe Vettro for a late lunch and each had a $16.00 hamburger. Gotta admit, the food was good. But check out this flower arrangement on the table:
We cracked up!!! Guess that's the designer idea of 'chic' these days...
After lunch, we had to see if the "luckier" statement was true, so into the casino to play our $20.00.
Played for a long time, by casino standards, and finally after a couple hours, jd and I both had a single $5 bill left, so we sat down at a bank of 4 slot machines that interact with each other. I hit a bonus, and the game began. My pirate ship fired upon Jerry's and the volleys went back and forth. By the end of the bonus, Jerry was ahead $375.00 and I had won $80.00. YES! LUCKIER!!!
Tomorrow: Old Town Las Vegas
Geez, you folks are having some spectacular luck so far. Hope it holds out!
ReplyDeleteNew York, New York... Probably my favorite piece of architecture in the world. I mean that - no sarcasm.
