Columbus Day Parade, and...

Hello, Friends!

It's October 9, and Federal Hill in Providence is holding it's Annual Columbus Day Festival, beginning with a Parade. We attend every year, and every year it is the same...same bands, same floats, same TV personalities and politicians trudging their way up Atwells Avenue.  Yes, Buddy Cianci was marching, again.

Since it was "same ol', same ol'", I didn't bother to take many pics.

But...later that afternoon, we attended a "Providence Bruins" game at the Dunk.
(for those not from RI, "The Dunk" is the Dunkin' Donuts Center  (formerly the Providence Civic Center), where most concerts, sports events and other circuses are held.

We really weren't that interested in seeing the minor league hockey game.  Our reason for attending was to witness our lovely niece, Jessica, sing the National Anthem with her  (North Providence High School) Choir.

That's Jess, third from the right...

They did a FANTASTIC job! You can hear them sing a few bars in a video on my Facebook page.

This was a good day.
xoxoxo, cd
