Adventures in Deck Repair, Part I

Today we venture into another Home Improvement project.

You'd think, after all we've been through with contractors, etc., that we'd be smart enough to keep clear of this type of activity.  Actually, we are.  But when it becomes a necessity to keep values up, intelligence has nothing to do with it.

It was 6:15 AM and I was just about to get into the shower when the phone rings...
Our Contractor.
Informing me that the material delivery will be a little earlier than was predicted.  How much earlier???

"He'll be there in ten minutes."

Oh, Dandy...

So I quickly dress, run out into the 30 dregee morning with car keys in hand to move the Buick out of the driveway (because, natch, that is where they will be stacking the lumber) only to find that the windshield is covered with ice.  More Dandy.

By 6:25, I am ready to receive building supplies.

Yup.  You guessed it.

It's 7:15...and no delivery yet.

Gonna be THAT kind of day.

xoxoxo, Clare

  1. Poor Clare,
Finished projects of remodels are always great but what hell to go through it. I'd rather climb the mountain behind my house 20 times than go through re-modeling. It rates right up there with new electronic things. I'll send you some construction energy to get you through this. Hope the delivery people get there and from now on "smooth sailing." Good luck
