Although for us "First" was a destination, for Baby Jack it is a stepping stone to new and wondrous things. The celebration of the first year of a child's journey is eagerly awaited by parents and siblings, aunties and uncles, grammas and grampas.
The child, however, has no anticipation of the event. And probably will not remember a moment of this rite of passage. S/He WILL enjoy it, though, in the same way as every child before or since...
The wrapping and bows are what MAKES the day!
Happiest First Year, Little Man!

Dear Clare,
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable one year old. Is that your grandson? Proof that kids often prefer the wrapping to the present. Ha
I looked back in your posts and I'm going to ask a question so I can better follow your blog. Are you actually traveling now and writing these posts along the way. I came in late and didn't quit understand if that is the case or if it's from a past vacation. At one point you said you are going to Texas from RI. I think it's a clever idea but I didn't know if you are actually driving, especially in this storm that is supposed to take over your part of the country.
For once, we in Montana are only getting the cold and we already have plenty of snow on the ground. But we are used to that and that is why this is such a great ski country. This morning it is 24 deg below and by Thursday 40 deg above and sunny is predicted. Why I like it here as opposed to Minnesota, where I used to live. It got below zero and stayed there until April.
I sincerely hope my time with Daryl is finished but afraid not. Divorce is like I haven't learned my lesson. He died on Valentine's Day and Marilyn said that is the Universe's way to punish a Narcissist. Ha.
Time for snuggies. Victoria's Secret makes them really sexy now. :)
